Uniform

ALL CHILDREN ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM

Girls

Navy blue skirt, trousers or culottes (or navy pinafore to Year 2) Culottes are available from M & S.

Navy school sweatshirt with St Mary’s School crest

Pale blue short-sleeved polo shirt with St Mary’s School crest

Pale blue checked print dress in the summer (optional) No playsuits

Navy tights, or white socks (no trainer socks)

Black low-heeled shoes.  No open toe sandals, platform soles or boots.

No jewellery apart from a watch and plain stud earrings if required. These must be removed for swimming, PE and games, by the pupil, so we recommend that earrings are not worn at school until this can be done.

No nail varnish, metal hairclips, hair gel or braids.

 

Boys

Grey trousers or shorts

Pale blue short-sleeved polo shirt with St Mary’s School crest

Grey socks (no trainer socks)

Black shoes

Watch if required.

 

Hairstyles

Long hair to be tied back with a plain blue or black fabric hair band

No hair gel

Boys (or girls) are not allowed extreme hairstyles (this is any hair style that draws extra attention to the wearer).

 

PE kit

Plain T shirt with St Mary’s School crest in relevant house colour

Plain navy shorts with St Mary’s School crest 

White socks 

Navy tracksuit top with St Mary’s School crest and plain navy joggers or tracksuit bottoms for winter months (optional)

Trainers for Games (indoor PE is done barefoot unless your child has a verruca)

Children who have school swimming lessons: Girls – one piece costume and a swimming cap.  Boys – trunks, not long length shorts. Verruca socks must be worn if necessary.

 

All children require an Art Shirt (e.g. an old office shirt) and a St Mary's book bag (rucksacks available for years 5-6 only).  Sun caps, Legionnaire caps and knitted hats (optional) are also available.  If you wish to provide your own suncap this must be plain navy blue.

 

We ask that all items of uniform and PE kit be clearly labelled with the child’s name, so that they can be identified easily when mislaid, and we ask for your help in using iron-on or sew-in name tapes.

 

Coats should be navy and have a loop so that they will hang on a cloakroom peg.
