Platinum School Games Award

We are delighted to share that our school has achieved the Platinum School Games Award!

This is the highest level of the School Games Mark and recognises our commitment to providing high-quality physical education, school sport and physical activity opportunities for all our pupils. It celebrates the progress we have made in developing participation, inclusion, leadership and competitive opportunities across the school.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and would like to thank our pupils, staff and families for their enthusiasm and support in helping us to meet the criteria for this fantastic award!

Sports Day

The whole school took part in a fantastic Sports Day at the end of the summer term. During the morning, pupils enjoyed a carousel of activities, including hurdles, standing long jump, javelin and a skipping relay. Year 6 students kept score throughout the event and encouraged everyone to join in with enthusiasm and determination.

In the afternoon, Key Stage 1 pupils competed in a range of track and field events. Field challenges included the bean bag throw and double jump, while the sack race, egg-and-spoon race and relay tested their speed and teamwork on the track.

Key Stage 2 children then showcased their skills in the tennis ball throw and triple jump before taking part in a sprint, obstacle race and relay. As always, the event was well supported by parents, whose encouragement helped make the day enjoyable and memorable for all involved.

Spring Term 2025

Year 5 enjoyed an inter-school cricket festival. EY visited the Amersham School for a PE festival. All year groups have been using our OAA markers. Year 3 and 4 use them to develop their problem solving skills in Maths. Children had the opportunity to try a dance workshop. Year 4 have been participating in a regular hockey festival with other local schools.

Platinum School Games Mark

We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the Platinum School Games Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year. This is the highest accolade within this scheme and is linked to our practice over the past 6 years. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme, facilitated by the Youth Sports Trust, to reward schools for their commitment to the development of active opportunities and competition across the school and into the community.

Sports Day

We had a fantastic Sports Day this year. Years 1-6 all showed great sportmanship in the team rotation of activities in the morning and all children had great fun in the obstacle, sprinting and relay races in the afternoon. Thanks to all our parents for coming along and supporting.
