Celebrating the Year of Reading.
Years 3&4 are investigating 'Do sugary drinks cause tooth decay?'
Years 1&2 are loving their topic on Mexico. This week they studied the work of Artist Kerri Ambrosina and produced some fabulous 3D paintings in her style.
Years 5&6 are reading Cosmic by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. Here they are acting out their thoughts on a scene as the parents in the book.
Early Years have been learning all about keeping healthy. Whether that is looking at colour monsters for emotion, making smoothies, or learning about the value of sleep.

Maple investigated soil to see what happened when it was combined with water.
In PHSE, Years 3&4 were drawing self portraits and writing about what makes them special.
In DT, Years 1&2 made their own Christmas scene and used a winding mechanism and cog to make moving parts.
Years 3&4 enjoyed a talk by a Geologist, talking about what geologists do. He also showed us some fossils that are 100s of million years old

In DT this week, KS1 made a home for a spider to live in..we had castles, forests and even St Mary's! The spider had to use a wind up mechanism to climb up and down. It was a lot of fun.

Year 4 attended an Inter schools Hockey tournament on Friday, they were amazing!

Amersham Museum has been a source of inspiration for our topic on traditional toys in years 1&2.
Years 3&4 have written their own version of the story of the Egyptian Cinderella. They acted out their tales.
Amersham Band performed to our whole school, they were fabulous.

Year 1&2 are loving their Amersham Museum trips, looking at traditional toys for the topic this term.
In science with years 1&2, we are enjoying learning about the signs of Autumn. We watched squirrels and hedgehogs, and talked about murmurations of starling (thanks Finn!)
Maple are learning about not judging by appearances, but seeing each other with a clear lens, in PHSE.

Remembrance Day
Years 3&4 enjoyed learning about colour mixing and used artistic influences such as Sean Scully and Vincent Van Gogh to create their own masterpieces.

We had a visiting poet come in today. James Carter inspired us with his assemblies and workshops, which in turn enthused the children to write their own poetry.

Sports Day!
A whole morning of DT with KS1, use various mechanisms to create your own moving picture.
Year 6 were stars in this year's production - Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits!
KS1 had two authors visit to talk about their books and what inspired them to write them.

Early Year's have enjoyed a trip out to Odds Farm Park.
Years 1&2 have visited Wooley Firs in Maidenhead. They have had a fantastic time exploring the woods and pond dipping.
We enjoyed open evening last week. It was lovely to see so many people coming to look around our beautiful school, seeing how hard the children have worked this year.
Years 5 & 6 made their own pitta bread and salad as part of their DT topic on Greek food - yum!
Our choir performed for parents on Wednesday and the whole school was filled with the sound of their beautiful voices.
In DT, Years 1 & 2 have been looking a mechanisms, starting with making a sliding moving picture.

Sky Art week - we learnt all about watercolours and how to add hues to our paintings.
Thorren and Jackson's Mum Aleda, ran a music session with years 3&4. The children learnt what it is like to be in a band, and how to harmonise.
Friday fun - A brilliant taster afternoon for our children to experience the different after school clubs that we offer.
