- Learning how to draw Owls, using shading and toning with pencils in Art with Elm and Fir.

- Duncan Dyson from Radio Christmas gave an assembly to tell us all about the difference our support means to those in Guatemala.
- Year 2 went cheerleading and had an amazing time.
- Making Earth cakes with years 3&4 in Geography.
- World Book Day!
- The Rotary Club announced the two winners of the Wonderful Water competition. Well done all who entered, the standard was very high.
- Year 6 were fantastic at their Handball games competition held at Amersham School.
- Cherry completed their Mexican ponchos and they all look amazing.
- Years 1&2 used drama to enhance their understanding of their book 'A Snail and a Whale.'
- Science with Maple - An Introduction to the new science topic of sound -listening to what we can hear outside and then making sound with instruments
- Year 3&4 using drama in English to help think of and perform the back story for the robot in the short film 'Tabula Rasa'
- Making a model of the Earth's layers in Geography with Years 3&4.
- Forest school with KS2...making trolls and fairies to bring magic to the woods.
- Making butterfly softies with years 3&4.
- KS1 have loved their DT topic on Mexico, making their own Mexican person with handcrafted ponchos.
- Years 3&4 were re-enacting a computer network, including a server, switch and a wireless access point.
- Willow Class last parent sharing assembly.
- Hazel Class are enjoying their active Science lesson on the digestive system!
- Early Years have loved their lessons with the African drums.
- The Super Heroes have taken over Early years!
- Chinese New year with Early Years.
- Mari Williams in year 3 entered our local photography competition with a photo of our School 150 years banner.
- Chris Smith, a visiting author, came and talked to KS2 about his work. They loved hearing all about his new book about the new Famous Five.
- Years 3&4 have loved using different mediums to create their own bugs!
- Yr5 attended a Hockey Festival at the Amersham and Chalfont Hockey Club.
- Working with pastels and card, KS1 produced a Mola Art animal picture.
- Maple Class enjoyed recreating the music video 'So good to me'.
- In Science, Years 3&4 have been learning all about the digestive system, producing a life sized diagram.
- Years 1&2 are practising their oracy skills in English by reenacting the poem 'Off we go to Mexico'.
- Celebrating the Year of Reading.
- Years 3&4 are investigating 'Do sugary drinks cause tooth decay?'
- Years 1&2 are loving their topic on Mexico. This week they studied the work of Artist Kerri Ambrosina and produced some fabulous 3D paintings in her style.
- Years 5&6 are reading Cosmic by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. Here they are acting out their thoughts on a scene as the parents in the book.
- Early Years have been learning all about keeping healthy. Whether that is looking at colour monsters for emotion, making smoothies, or learning about the value of sleep.
- Money, Money, Money! Years 1&2 have loved working with money this week.
- Years 3&4 enjoyed Active Maths and worked out factor pairs of numbers.

- Reindeer Run for the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
- St Mary's alumna enjoyed the Nativity, followed by tea, cake and chat as they remembered their time at our School.

- Maple investigated soil to see what happened when it was combined with water.
- In PHSE, Years 3&4 were drawing self portraits and writing about what makes them special.
- Years 3&4 enjoyed a talk by a Geologist, talking about what geologists do. He also showed us some fossils that are 100s of million years old
- Christmas displays made by years 1&2, 3&4 and 5&6.
- Ms Felstead telling us all about violins , followed by children performing Christmas Songs with theirs.
- Singing around the Christmas tree at the Christmas Evening in Old Amersham.
- Walk like a Egyptian with Years 3&4.
- Radio Christmas - our children are live NOW!
- More Christmas baking in preparation for making gingerbread houses.
- In DT this week, KS1 made a home for a spider to live in..we had castles, forests and even St Mary's! The spider had to use a wind up mechanism to climb up and down. It was a lot of fun.
- No Pens Wednesday! How inventive to learn all day without picking up a pen.
- Year 4 attended an Inter schools Hockey tournament on Friday, they were amazing!
- Years 3&4 had a fantastic time at the British Museum in London.
- Time to vote - Parliament week - should sports day be compulsory?
- Learning all about the Egyptians with Years 3&4.
- Early Years are enjoying Forest School, Maths week, learning about fairy tales and traditional tales and many more fun activities.
- Museum take over day with KS1.
- Painting our favourite traditional Toys!
- Children in Need raised £323!! Thank you.
- Amersham Museum has been a source of inspiration for our topic on traditional toys in years 1&2.
- Years 3&4 have written their own version of the story of the Egyptian Cinderella. They acted out their tales.
- Amersham Band performed to our whole school, they were fabulous.
- Maths week!
