Busy Bees group planting purple crocus bulbs in the Pondwick community orchard.

The purple crocuses were planted in support of The Polio Awareness Campaign supported by the Amersham Rotary Club. The purple colour represents children in poorer countries who are given the polio vaccine on a sugar lump. The children then have to have their finger painted purple in order to prevent them queuing up again to get another sugar lump!
